The Bangsamoro Electoral Code IEC materials were distributed to the ten municipalities in Maguindanao Del Sur covered by the AB3 project (Paglat, GSKP, Rajahbuayan, Sultan Sa Barongis, Datu Paglas, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Datu Salibo, Guindulungan, Pagalungan, and Datu Hoffer). The recipients came from a variety of sectors, including local governments, people with disabilities, traditional leaders, religious leaders, youth, and women.
The impact of these IEC materials was multi-faceted and profound. Firstly, they served as invaluable educational resources, elucidating the provisions of the Bangsamoro Electoral Code in a clear and concise manner. Through easily understandable language, graphics, and illustrations, citizens gained insights into their electoral rights, the mechanics of voting, candidacy requirements, and the importance of free and fair elections.
Furthermore, the AB3 Voter's Education and Community Conversation Roll-out facilitated meaningful dialogue and engagement within communities. The IEC materials served as catalysts for discussions on governance, democracy, and the role of citizens in nation-building. Through interactive sessions and community forums, residents had the opportunity to voice their concerns, ask questions, and collaborate on solutions to common challenges, thus fostering a culture of participatory democracy.
