AB3 Supported MDFI Website for Digital Archiving

October 10, 2023

Archiving and quick accessing of important files had been among the challenges of many organization like the MDFI. The more documents are stored, the longer it takes to search file folders needed, thus, consumed staff time to do other important and productive tasks. Distribution copies and double filing (copies for project files and the like) can cause considerable printing and paper costs.Documents must be copied and stored in several folders so that they can be found in every type of search. There are times that document accesses are unsuccessful because the documents are misfiled, disappeared or in process.

Hence, the MDFI website development was supported by The Asia Foundation with funding support from the British Embassy through the Activate Bangsamoro 3 Project for digital archiving of important documents.

Why Digital Archiving is Seen Important to MDFI?

Eliminating physical documents creates free spaces: the huge office shelves that are full of file cabinets can migrate to digital format and be within reach of a few clicks on computer. It will greatly reduce daily paper consumption, which also leads to space savings per square meter by not using more physical documents or shelves. This will mean that you do not need more printers and various office supplies that usually require maintenance.

The use of MDFI digital archive will now allow the visualization of the documents regardless of the location or the distance between the user and the server of these, giving way to the elimination of parcel or courier expenses.

Moreover, partners of MDFI or anyone can now search what is MDFI, its history, work, etc. through its website.
